This particular image was shot digitally and then digitally airbrushed using a pen tablet. You'll see areas in the texture of the wave that I enhanced the color.

It wasn't until I moved to Oahu in October of 2004 where I had the time to wait for days like this from this angle in order to capture this image. In my previous decades of shooting Waimea Bay I was focusing on the shore break from the right side of the bay.
